celeste !!

hello, welcome to my humble text abode

find in these walls words about me,

things i like, where to find me, etc

about me

so.. hi! name is celeste (lowercase preferred).
pronouns are she/they/it (feel free to ask if you really want to know the niche answer). i'm a specimen of female..ish? gender.
currently, and as of writing this (see last update) i'm a heavily burnt-out devops/sys. admin living in spain.

find below some lists of assorted information:

interests

overall, i'm interested in the niche and odd. the practical and pretty. sometimes, i just think some stuff is neat.

one such thing is the PocketMage-- a modern vision of a distraction-free pocket assistant, featuring a wifi-capable microcontroller, an e-ink display for main display and built-in storage.
as of writing this, i've ordered one back in september, and i'm excited to implement something like caldav or filedav for easy file sync.

i've also got two minor projects on hold (until i'm more capable of coding for ""fun""), namely a metal-case beepy with a color screen that i use sometimes as a pocket pager of sorts, to respond to email, write down some notes and ssh into machines-- given it has a microusb port, wifi and bluetooth.
for some time i've also wanted to make some quick/dirty applications for it using python3+textual, but alas, my mental health caught up to me before i could.

another fun fact about me is that i'm training using a 4x10 planck keyboard using the apt (v3) layout. i found that dvorak had too many single-finger bigrams and it wasn't really optimised for the bigrams and trigrams found in english. currently at ~35wpm

in terms of computing, for my daily usage i have an alpine linux setup with bedrock linux along with an arch linux stratum, which allows me to "dual-wield" the packages from either distro and pick one at boot.
what can i say? it's neat to have the speed from both and the inconveniences from neither.

talking about mobile devices and whatnot, i'd like to say that some day i want to daily drive a phone with postmarket or ubuntu touch. the inconvenience is that banking apps and some other stupid thigns still want to be run on a "genuine" android phone, relying on google play.
my plan would be to run a phone with a matrix client, email, navigation and other applications and then having an android phone locked down, just for banking and other stupid apps that require it.

talking of a completely different subject, i'll mention my audio setup; i'm currently using a Focusrite Scarlett Solo 4th Gen audio interface with an akg microphone, paired with some beyerdynamics dt990 pro. i gotta say that i severely enjoy my audio setup and it brings me great joy with its high fidelity without breaking the bank for it.

contact

if you wish to approach me, feel free to ask about the information in this page, about information tangentially related or topics that you think i might find interesting.
i don't often strike first when talking but i'm happy to share chatter back and forth about whatever.

please note that detailed info. (phone, location, CV, disability/health status, etc.) is only available upon request.
